There are many emotions that come along with getting ready for university. You might be feeling excited and worried, but you will be fine – because we've got you covered! Read on for some tips and tricks on how to get all prepped for uni.

1. Prepare ahead of time

It's very easy to procrastinate and leave things to the last minute. You may have gotten away with it in high school, but university is a different game! Work can pile up quickly and it's important to stay on top of your reading and assignments. You may not feel like it at the time, but you will be happy later that you read and prepared ahead. Plus, you can help all your friends who might be panicking last minute!

2. Stay organized and help your friends

Staying organized is key when starting university. Keeping your assignments, readings, and other important school documents in order will keep your thoughts organized and will likely help you focus better on the more important tasks on hand. You may want to create a group chat with your friends in the same classes as you so you can remind each other of important deadlines, and also share memes during midterm and exam season! The MARQ offers furnished bedrooms with double bed, storage space, and study desk that you can accessorize to stay organized!

3. Learn to cook

This may be the first time you have to cook for yourself…have fun with it! There are so many student-friendly websites that offer, delicious, budget-friendly recipes that you can make even if you don't have much time to prep! Now is a great time to take a break with your friends and cook together – it doesn't have to be all work! The MARQ has private kitchens in each suite so you don't have to share with the rest of the floor. Check out this link for some quick and easy recipes.

4. Join a student club/group

Yes, you are attending school to learn, but that doesn't mean you can't have some fun! Don't forget to get involved in different clubs and groups to meet new people with similar interests as you. You can learn a lot from getting involved throughout university clubs plus make life-long friends. The MARQ residents are invited to join exciting resident events throughout the year. These events include welcome BBQ, movie nights, sushi-making, resident appreciation pizza night, and so much more!

5. Pack early, rather than later

Don't worry if you forget to bring a few things to school with you, because you can always go back home! You may want to make a list and check it twice! If you have a friend you can ask, you might want to double check with them to make sure you aren't forgetting any important items!

6. Enjoy yourself

This is an exciting time for you, and you should make the most of it! Take study breaks, go out with friends, and enjoy living away from home. There is so much to learn at university and so much to explore! At The MARQ Student Communities, we have a variety of amenities for you to enjoy with your friends such as a theatre room, social lounge, billiards lounge, and much more! *Amenities may vary based on property.
