Are you suffering from "pandemic fatigue"? It's totally understandable that after a year of quarantine and stay at home orders that you are feeling discouraged and exhausted. You're not the only one who feels this way. Keep these 5 factors in mind as vaccines become more widely available and "normal life" approaches.

Realities of Work-life balance. You might be feeling the pandemic has blurred these boundaries, you are not alone in feeling this way. Rather than managing your time, it is more efficient to focus on your levels of energy. It may be difficult to see the silver lining of the pandemic, but there has been so much good that has come from this including: spending quality time with loved ones, learning a new skill, or even finding a new passion.

Focus on your needs. Take a few moments each day to breathe some fresh air, take a quick work break to clear your thoughts, or organize safe outings. Find safe ways to stay active such as, hitting at the driving range, playing tennis outdoors, visiting a local park, taking a trip to the beach and/or finding a unique hiking trail.

Find a way to safely socialize with others. Safe socialization is becoming easier. Isolation and loneliness can play a big part in feeling burnt out. Make sure to continue prioritizing your relationships, give your best friend a phone call or video chat with your family.

Change your mindset. 'Normal life' may no longer be what it once was. Depending on where you are located, masks may still be required, and your work life may remain fairly secluded. Adjust some of your expectations in light of the changes that have occurred and will occur and focus on the things that you can control instead of things that you can't.

We're in the final stretch! Remember, with change comes opportunity. While we must remain vigilant, there are more reasons than ever to be optimistic about the future. Don't lose sight of the end goal, and don't be afraid to ask for help as we gradually return to more normal activities.
